And the Oscar Goes to...

For most of us, being nominated for an Academy Award would be an extraordinary dream come true. Our Oscar fantasy, however, would be about gorgeous gowns, diamonds and walking the red carpet in killer Zanottis and less, “I’d like to thank the Academy…” And so in that vein we got to live the dream, albeit briefly, through Aparna Danna, whose husband Mychael Danna was nominated for two Academy Awards for the movie ‘Life of Pi.’ Aparna graciously allowed us to spend the day with her as she got ready for the Oscar red carpet with her glam squad – Hollywood hairstylist Guy Romeo and celebrity makeup artist, Shalini Vadhera. While hair and make-up tend to play supporting roles to “the dress” it’s the key element in any woman’s presentation. Aparna’s beautiful lehenga was designed by Toronto based Indian fashion designer Dinesh Ramsay and her jewelry was courtsey of Bavna in Los Angeles.
