There’s nothing better than indulging in a bit of sparkle while supporting a worthwhile cause, especially one impacting the lives of young girls. Gemfields, a supplier of colored gemstones has launched Project Blossoming, a philanthropic partnership with ten jewelers in India to support Project Nanhi Kali and the education of young girls in the country. With a blooming flower as their motif, esteemed jewelers like Amrapali, Anmol and Mirari, have created one-of-a-kind pieces set with Gemfields’ Zambian emeralds and Mozambican rubies to be auctioned by Christie’s on June 6th in Mumbai.
To magnify the reach of the cause, Gemfields has enlisted the support of actress Chitrangada Singh, who will serve as the project’s celebrity ambassador. “As India develops and society evolves, we owe it to our daughters to allow them opportunities. As a public figure, it is a privilege for me to be involved in Project Blossoming — I am aware of my responsibility to young girls and through the sale of these extraordinary pieces of jewelry, I hope that we can make a real difference to the lives of many, ” said Singh.
The complete collection will tour eight cities across the country, exhibiting at each brand’s boutique before returning to Mumbai for the auction. All the proceeds will be donated to Project Blossoming which hopes to support over 2000 underprivileged girls with quality education. See more from the collection below.
