Bibhu Mohapatra isn’t a designer we’ve featured much on Couture Rani but that’s definitely going to change. His new Spring 2015 collection from New York Fashion Week was perfection and one of the strongest we’ve seen from the designer. If you were wondering what we meant yesterday about having a cohesive collection, this folks, is what we’re talking about.
The collection featured tops, skirts, pants, day dresses and evening wear with geometric digital prints, the most prominent of which was a rattan weave pattern, that showed up in various incarnations throughout the collection. Even when he veered off the print, subtle elements of the theme remained. Everything about the collection from the fabrics, to the print, to the color palette was just utterly beautiful.
Take a look at the video below where Mohapatra talks about his inspiration for the collection and how that influenced the hair, makeup and even the models nails for the runway show!
