Before there was India Couture Week or India Bridal Fashion Week, designer Tarun Tahiliani had already set the bar with his own annual bridal extravaganza called the “Couture Bridal Exposition” complete with elaborate themes and beautiful sets to display his collection. Now in its sixth season, the designer showcased his “Modern Mughals” collection in Mumbai and Delhi featuring bridal and evening wear that combined traditional designs and craftsmanship with modern fabrics and cuts. True to its name, the collection featured designs fit for Indian royalty from raw silk gota lehengas with aari work to beautiful princess-y gowns with embroidered bodices and layers of tulle.
