Anita Dongre’s bridal line might be only be two seasons old but her bride has already made a sartorial leap from demure, traditional bride to one that’s independent and modern in every way. The muse for the Rajasthani inspired collection is the gorgeous model, Jyothsna Chakravarthy, who portrays Nayantara – a beautiful, free spirit who challenges convention yet loves all things traditional.
The one element that hasn’t changed, however, is Dongre’s impeccable design that seamlessly blends traditional silhouettes with the simplicity of contemporary design. The full collection, which features saris, lehengas, and salwar kameezes, among other styles will be shown on the runway today at Lakme Fashion Week.
